Birder's Guide to Listing & Taxonomy | December 2018 8 Derek Lovitch and his wife, Jeannette, own Freeport Wild Bird Supply, an independent wild bird feeding and birding specialty store in Freeport, Maine. Derek is the author of two bird books and former "Tools of the Trade" Department Editor at Birding. He guides in New England and beyond through his store and for WINGS. John McCormack is Director of the Moore Labora-tory of Zoology at Occidental College and Curator of its bird and mammal specimen collection. He teaches Evolution and Ornithology in the Biology Department. He lives in the Highland Park neighborhood of north- east Los Angeles with his wife, who is a herpetologist, and their two children. John manages the Moore Lab Instagram account (@MLZbirds). Greg Neise got interested in birds as a kid growing up near Chicago's Lincoln Park. At the age of 13, he worked along- side ornithologist William S. Beecher, then Director of the Chicago Academy of Sciences. Greg is a web developer with the ABA, Editor of the Big Day & List Report , and a fanatical birder. Sophie A. H. Osborn is a Montana-based wildlife biologist, writer, and conserva - tionist. Sophie's wildlife work has includ- ed the study and conservation of the bird faunas of the U.S., Central America, and South America. Her Condors in Canyon Country: The Return of the California Condor to the Grand Canyon Region won a 2007 National Outdoor Book Award. Michael L. P. Retter is Editor of Birder's Guide and the author of the ABA Field Guide to Birds of Illinois. A former full- time and now part-time birding tour leader with BRANT, Michael is past Chair of the Indiana Bird Records Committee. He reviews eBird records for Illinois, Indiana, and Mexico, and runs QBNA, the continent's LGBTQ+ birders' club. Rick Wright leads birding and birds and art tours in western Europe and Central America for Victor Emanuel Nature Tours. The Book Review Editor at Birding and a former Editor of the ABA's Winging It, Rick is the author of five books, in - cluding the new Peterson Reference Guide to Sparrows of North America. He lives in northern New Jersey with his wife, Alison Beringer, and their chocolate lab, Gellert. About the Authors
