85 March 2014 | Birder's Guide to Travel Lafayette, Colorado tfoyd@aba.org Ted Floyd Guana Island lies a mile off the northeast coast of Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. The small island (850 acres, only 1.3 square miles) is hilly and rocky, carpeted by sun-kissed tropical woodland. Guana has no permanent human inhabitants, but many workers from the nearby city of Road Town, Tortola, commute daily to work at the island's resort. Photo © Guana.com Bridled Quail-Dove.
